Toddler Atlanta Marietta Family Photography

Would You Believe He Just Wasn’t Into It? | Marietta, GA Family Photographer

As opposed to my last blog where everything flowed easily… sometimes toddlers just have their own agenda.

This sweet almost-two-year-old had missed his nap. It had been a full day. He wasn’t immediately interested in photos at this Roswell park.

And guess what?

These are some of my favorite images I have ever taken of him.

This was my fifth time working with this beautiful Sandy Springs family (repeat clients are the greatest gift). Because there’s already trust, there’s no pressure. Just space for him to be exactly who he was that day.

When Toddlers Have Their Own Plans

Not every session starts with big smiles — and that’s okay.

As an experienced family photographer, I don’t rely on perfect moods. I rely on patience, play, and connection.

Yes, I always come prepared — bubbles, snacks, make you pack his lovey for comfort. But more importantly, I know how to read toddlers. I know when to pause. When to move. When to pivot.

Instead of trying to change his mood, we worked with it.

And that’s why this gallery feels so real.

Why These Images Are So Special

His dreamy moment laying in the grass.

His “I’m pretending I’m not having fun.”

His full-speed bubble chasing.

His cuddles with mom when he needed a reset.

His slow warm-up into joy.

This is what two looks like sometimes — tender, independent, emotional, curious.

And that’s worth documenting.

“You are a miracle worker!! These turned out so cute even though he was all over the park and a little not into it!!” – Mom
