Some of my favorite family photo sessions look less like a photo shoot and more like real life unfolding. This session in downtown Kennesaw was exactly that—three kids, lots of movement, curious exploring, and the kind of moments that happen when no one is being asked to sit still or say cheese.
Downtown Kennesaw is one of those places that quietly works for families. It’s walkable, relaxed, and full of little pockets of interest that naturally keep kids engaged. Instead of forcing a plan, we let the kids lead. They explored, laughed, wandered ahead, circled back, and just existed together—and that’s where the best images came from.
These are the sessions that feel easy in the moment and meaningful years later.

One of the biggest worries parents share with me is whether their kids will “behave” for photos. Sessions like this are always my reminder that kids don’t need to behave—they need space. When they’re given room to move, explore, and be themselves, the pressure disappears.
We didn’t chase perfection during this session. We focused on connection. The in-between moments—the hand holding, the laughter, the quiet pauses—those are the ones that matter most. They tell the real story of this season of life.
