Should I Have Maternity Photos Taken For my Second Child? – Roswell Photographer

I hear this often. I even questioned this myself. I mean similar images, a bump is a bump, a toddler grinding you down- but hear me out. I have three main reasons why the answer will always be YES.

1. A special date with your growing soon-to-be older sibling. It’s a great way to get them excited for their changing role. Whether older or just a toddler themselves, it’s a big change that should be celebrated and help them prepare for. A session where they get a little more attention helps give them sweet mom and dad time. Capture your evolving family just how it is before things change.

2. Documenting isn’t for you only, it’s a gift. Looking back in years, it is that child that is going to want to see your excitement for them. Ever hear how the first child gets everything? Ha. I am here to tell you the second, third, etc. child feels that! Take the time, even before they are born to show them they were celebrated and you were all excited about their arrival. I can’t tell you how many times my youngest daughter wants to see her baby book and my maternity images with her.

3. Each pregnancy is unique and beautiful. Sure the morning sickness and body aches may reoccur but there are those moments of out-of-this-world- look at me! Look what my body can do. It’s a miracle. I can’t believe my body. Sometimes during second pregnancies you are even more comfortable with your changing body and I encourage you to embrace it. There will be moments in life you do miss it.

We celebrated big brother-to-be first. Then went PINK for baby girl. Dad came to help out but decided he needed to be apart of this too. I am telling you dads get the importance too. And so happy I got some sweet moments for him too. Short, sweet and celebrated, baby girl will love having these of her momma pregnant with her.
