As a local photographer, I do most family sessions in East Cobb, Marietta and Roswell. This is where the majority of my clients come from. So here are my top 5 places in Marietta for family photo sessions.
Marietta Square. The square offers a lot of different looks. Although it requires a tad more walking, it offers wall murals galore. This is great for pops of color to add interest. Not to mention the amazing architecture, alley ways, and, of course, square park. Mornings work best for this location. Grab a coffee at a local place. I have some yummy recommendations!
East Cobb Park. Sure we can dress up and go to the park! It’s a pretty setting close to home with trees, green space and a bridge. But my favorite part is the creek! If you want a playful, casual, fun session, let’s splash around. The kids absolutely love these sessions. Dogs welcome! The playground is an added bonus for afterward.
Mabry Park. Brand new as of 2019. This park offers rolling meadows, wooded areas and a lake. A horse farm is located at the entrance and there’s a new playground for little ones. I can’t wait to start photographing here.
Sope Creek Ruins. This historical site has stacked stone ruins of a Civil War- era paper mill. This will require some walking shoes and bug spray (<– like everywhere in GA) but showcases stone ruins, a creek and beautiful wooded area.
Your Home. Let’s face it, this is where young children are most comfortable. It’s convenient for quick outfit changes. Great option for large family reunions that include seniors. If you just moved in, it makes a great backdrop for holiday cards or ‘New Home Announcements’. It also adds an element of uniqueness and personality. Many HOAs have well kept community spaces or even scenic lakes as an option. Plan a session with a neighbor together and both families will receive a discount.
Any Location Special to your Story. Many of us have a special spot we enjoy. Why not use that location to photograph a milestone? I would love to photograph your family directly ‘there’ if possible. If we need special permission, I can work that out. Permits, I have them. When the location is special, it’s more than just a background—it’s part of your story. Let’s create!
